Meet Birthright of Quincy
“I found myself in the scariest position a young, single woman could be in—facing unexpected parenthood. Terrified and uneducated, I only saw one way out. By miracle, I stumbled upon Birthright in Quincy. Birthright relieved some of the financial burdens and pressures causing me to be scared and ‘inhibited.’ Without these burdens, I was able to focus on more important things, and able to see the many options available to me.”
The above quote is a testimony from a Birthright of Quincy client. Birthright is a nonprofit, nonpolitical, non-denominational service organization that offers pregnant women and girls the non-judgmental emotional and practical support they need to make responsible and educated decisions about their future and that of their unborn child.
Director Patty Adam has volunteered for Birthright for 34 years. The organization’s clients are near and dear to her heart as she was once faced with a tough decision. Thirty-eight years ago, she had an unplanned pregnancy and considered abortion. But after talking to Birthright volunteers about other options, she decided against it, and is glad she did.
